Let’s go back to the typical formation of the conglomerate rocks. Other formations were created similarly as rock holes, for example: rock towers, needle rocks, mushroom rocks. Out of the wide range of weathering processes, the frost weathering from the Quaternary Ice Age seemingly played the most important role. At that time, this area was not glaciated, however, its climate was decisively influenced by the nearby ice sheet. The climate was harsh in the Ice sheet area, similarly as in Tundra nowadays. Releasing of pebbles, together with other factors, caused division and deformation of rock blocks into shapes which inspired human imagination. Their names depict their form, for example: The Owl and the Owlet, mushroom rock Smrcok, The Monk, The Indian, Maria Theresa, Luther and Melanchthon, etc.
